Help define the visual world of a production. Use AI alongside artistic judgment and hands-on refinement to develop characters, environments, props, and a coherent visual language.
What you'll do
- Interpret scripts, briefs, and creative direction as visual concepts.
- Explore character, costume, environment, and prop designs.
- Develop look, composition, color, materials, and lighting direction.
- Create design sheets, references, and production bibles that carry approved decisions into shots.
- Refine work through review and collaborate with animators and technical directors to preserve the intended design.
What to show us
Share selected production design or visual development work. Explain your contribution, tools and methods, and how a design changed through decisions or feedback. A coherent set of designs is useful.
Bring characters, scenes, and stories into motion. Shape performance, action, staging, timing, camera movement, and the iteration needed to make a sequence work.
What you'll do
- Translate storyboards, designs, and direction into animated shots and sequences.
- Shape acting, movement, pacing, and camera choices around the scene's intention.
- Combine AI animation methods, references, performance inputs, and hands-on adjustments as a shot requires.
- Review and refine generated motion, character appearance, and continuity across shots.
- Work with artists, editorial, and technical directors to solve creative problems and carry shots through review.
What to show us
Share a reel or selected sequences with clear notes on your contribution. Explain how you directed or refined the animation, the methods you used, and a challenge you solved.
Develop the methods a production needs to achieve its creative goals. Work with artists and animators to investigate difficult problems, test approaches, and turn useful experiments into workflows the team can use.
What you'll do
- Translate visual, animation, and delivery requirements into focused R&D questions.
- Evaluate models, control methods, tools, and integrations against representative production tasks.
- Build or adapt scripts, utilities, automation, and agentic workflows for a production's needs.
- Investigate consistency, motion, asset handoffs, generation, and iteration with the creative team.
- Compare quality, repeatability, turnaround time, and resource use to help a production choose an approach.
- Document useful methods and help artists and animators adopt them.
- Feed production lessons into reusable workflow development.
What to show us
Share a technical or production breakdown: the problem, approaches tested, workflow developed, your contribution, and the practical outcome. A tool demonstration, documented experiment, workflow, or shareable code can help.
One production, shared craft
Different disciplines. One creative direction.
On a sequence, an AI Artist establishes visual designs and references. An AI Animator develops performance and motion. An AI Technical Director investigates production challenges and develops methods that help the team reach its creative goal. All three work through review and iteration.
